Do you ever wonder what you may be able to do to help your children stay healthy? You probably understand that following a healthy diet is extremely important for your child. Similarly, did you know that there may be a few things you’ll need to do to keep your child as healthy as possible?

For example, you may have heard that you should brush and floss your little one’s teeth. We usually recommend brushing your child’s teeth for two minutes at a time. It’s also important that you brush gently and that you use a brush made with soft bristles. If you don’t, you could accidentally hurt their teeth. Similarly, please remember to use toothpaste without fluoride in it.

Still, even before your child’s first tooth comes in, you should remember to keep their gums clean by using a wet rag. We recommend holding your child so you can see their mouth when you clean their gums. We usually suggest cleaning their gums each time your child eats.

It’s also important that you do not give your child a bottle with sugary liquids in it. Sadly, milk and juice can all cause problems. If you give your baby a bottle with these drinks in it, their teeth could be exposed to sugar if they fall asleep, which will leave them more vulnerable to decay. If your child does need a bottle to sleep, please fill it with water.
